LEDX offers a wide range of headlamp models to use when entering the dark, regardless of activity. Even if you just are out for a short trip or leaving the civilisation for many days LEDX will be the perfect partner and deliver powerful light and the ease of use that you really need. Whatever adventure is waiting around the corner LEDX will always be the perfect choice. While repelling water and supplying a 24 hour battery life LEDX headlamps will handle all dark situations you can ever face.
The two bigger models Cobra and Mamba is driven by a high capacity battery, that should be carried in a small belt bag or in the backpack, gives enough power to illuminate an entire forest. On the smaller headlamp Kaa the battery is carried on the headgear at the back head which gives total freedom but yet in combination with powerful light. LEDX Kaa has been reward with top rating from 3 scandinavian outdoor magazines. In fact LEDX headlamps have won all tests that they have participated in, or got 5 of 5 possible if the lamp has not been tested against another.
I have been out in the woods and a member of the scouts since I was six years old. I have been on many trips into the wilderness, and also guided people out on their adventure. This has become my job, which is amazingly fun; to help people out in
nature.
Many times it also becomes too much of an adventure, and I wanted to tell you about an occasion when it went really bad, I was lucky to have my headlamp with me, despite it just being a day trip.
I worked a summer season at Sylarna mountain lodge in the Northern part of Sweden. We had a lot of free time, and I packed my backpack for a trip to Goosen Cottage and the nearby Goosen peak. I took the normal road to the top, but then I thought
there was a faster road down the mountain side where there was a lot of loose stones, but should not be a problem, I thought..
Said and done, I start finding my way down the mountain side, it gets harder and harder to find my way, and finally I have to cross sideways past a large block of stone. I walk carefully, the block is a little loose, but I manage to pass by. But
after 50m it's stop and I have to turn around.
On my way back, I gently put my hands on the stone block and is about to pass, but I slip. Instinctively, I take take a hold of the big rock block and try to hold on. The stone block gets loose and we roll both for a few seconds down the hill - I
have time to think: will I survive?
When I look up, the stone block is rolling further down while I have stopped. In the corner of my eye, I see my sleeping mat blow away. I have difficulty breathing deeply and pain in both feet, but a sense of joy spreads - I’M ALIVE!
I spend a while on the ground before I start to limp down. The sun goes down and I set up the tent on a sloping hillside. I fall asleep directly from the exhaustion, wondering how to get back to the mountain lodge.
After a night without a sleeping mat and lying in a slope, I start to descend to the cottage, where I spend another night and then I stop down to Goosen cottage. The 18 kilometers back to Sylarna Fjällstation, which before took 5 hours now take
14 hours and several of them in darkness.
Always pack your headlamp; because you’ll need it when you least expect it!
Mikael has also climbed Mount Kilimanjaro with his LEDX Mamba.
Since two years, I have you been using Ledx Mamba headlight during my work as a dog sledding guide in Kiruna and I dare say that it is the best headlamp in the world. During the 12 years I have worked as a guide, I have tested most of the products on the market and nothing comes close to the quality and light flow of these headlamps. Even when it's extreme weather conditions like -48 degrees, they work without blame. So I can really recommend these lights to anyone looking for high quality headlights.
A could trip
During the first week in january I was on a one week long trip with 6 english tourists and 30 Siberian Husky sleigh dogs. We were touring in a, to me, completely new area. There was a lot of snow, the temperature were close to -40° degrees and the first stars were started to be sighted in the dark sky. We were supposed to sleep in a small cottage close to a lake.
After a long and cold day we were approaching the lake at which the cottage were belonged but at the time it had started to get really dark which ment it should be tricky to find the hut. Especially since there were no tracks to follow. According to the map it should be placed at the west part of the lake and now it was time to reach the place and my english tourists started to get really cold.
When I entered the lake I rised the power on my LEDX Mamba to 100% and started to search the shore, a few kilometers away I found a cottage 50m up in the woods. There were a lot of smiles and happy faces then we arrived and when we could make fire in the cabin, heat ourselves and drink some freshly brewed coffee.
Without my LEDX Mamba the night could have been a very cold one searching for the cottage. Now, thanks to the impressive light, I could find it without any trouble. What could have ended up in a very dangerous situation were no just a normal thrilling adventure, just a little bit cold.
